• Paula Moran received a PhD in Psychopharmacology from the National University of Ireland on the role of cholinergic and noradrenergic systems in Alzheimer’s Disease.

  • She subsequently spent six years as a senior scientist in the pharmaceutical industry at the Marion Merrell Dow Research Institute, Strasbourg, France and was involved in a number of drug discovery projects for Alzheimer's Disease and Schizophrenia.

  • She returned to academia to take up an EU Human Capital and Mobility Fellowship at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, U.K.

  • She then continued research at the University of Nottingham on information processing in psychiatric and neurological disease as well as in healthy population groups as Associate Professor and since 2021 as honorary Associate Professor.  

  • She has authored and co-authored over 70 scientific publications across Pharmacology, Psychology, Psychiatry and neuroscience.

  • She has received several awards for her research from the British Psychological Society (BPS), International Congress on Schizophrenia Research (ICOSR), British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP) and Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (CINP).

  • She has been a member of the scientific advisory panel for psychotic disorders for the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and for many years served as preclinical external affairs officer of the British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP).

  • She currently acts as a scientific consultant for academia and the pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.
